Munich launches digital hand luggage trolleys

Since October 4, 2023, so-called digital hand luggage trolleys have been available to passengers at Munich Airport. Passengers then receive information and updates in real time.

Next to their departure gate, passengers can choose facilities such as shops and restaurants. You will then be guided through the terminal using a map with integrated directions and receive location-specific offers. The use of the smart luggage carts is free of charge. The cars can be rented in Terminal 2 after the security check in front of the duty free.

The introduction is part of a six-month pilot project in Terminal 2. This test phase is being carried out with the Danish developer company Intelligent Track Systems (ITS). At Munich Airport, the interactive displays from ITS will be attached to the existing hand luggage trolleys. The ITS “Clickon” solution is unique worldwide.
