Nuremberg Airport has completed the conversion of the apron lighting to LED technology. Since this uses significantly less energy than its predecessor, the airport will primarily save money.

Converting the apron headlights to LED lamps. 78 conventional spotlights on 13 masts were replaced. This brings even more brightness to the parking positions of the aircraft, and at the same time this measure alone can save around 400.000 KWh and around 180 tons of CO₂ per year. Another aspect: LEDs have a lifespan of up to 100.000 hours - significantly longer than their predecessors.
