The Airport Pastoral Care at Stuttgart Airport is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. The Church Services, founded in December 1998, is an ecumenical institution of the Evangelical Regional Church in Württemberg and the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart.

Two full-time employees, supported by a team of around 30 volunteers, provide pastoral care for passengers and employees at the airport. The team is currently led by Matthias Hiller (Evangelical Regional Church) and Mechthild Foldenauer (Diocese of Rottenburg Stuttgart).

Ulrich Heppe, spokesman for the management of Flughafen Stuttgart GmbH, congratulates on the anniversary: “We are glad that the church services are here with us at the airport. For 25 years, they have been accompanying travelers and employees as needed, in everyday life and in difficult border situations. This proven support is important at an airport where thousands of people travel every day. Our thanks go to everyone who supports this work - the two Christian churches, the pastors who are or were active here, and all the committed volunteers, without whom this whole work would not be possible," said Heppe. “We wish the Airport Pastoral Care continued energy in its important service and look forward to it continuing to provide an anchor point in the hustle and bustle of everyday airport life.”
