From May 1st to November 3rd, 2024, the Wachaubahn enables daily, stress-free and comfortable travel through the world-famous UNESCO World Heritage Site of Wachau. In addition to regular operations, the railway will also offer additional trains during festive activities such as the Wachau Wine Spring in the evening.

LH deputy Udo Landbauer emphasizes the attractiveness of daily transport for locals and guests, both in everyday life and in their free time. The Wachaubahn connects Krems an der Donau with Emmersdorf and offers a convenient way to explore the numerous sights along the route.

Barbara Komarek, Managing Director of Niederösterreich Bahnen, highlights the diverse ticket options, including the “hop-on-hop-off” day tickets, which offer flexible entry and exit options at all stops along the route. Tickets can be purchased online or directly on the train. Bicycles are free to take on board, but reservations for parking spaces are required.

A special tip is the Wachau Wine Spring, which takes place on May 4th and 5th, 2024. This festive event offers the opportunity to taste the variety of wines from the Wachau. The “Wine Spring Ribbon” serves as an entry ticket and allows a return trip on the Wachaubahn. Additional trains offer visitors the opportunity to arrive and depart comfortably and safely, including the “Steinfeder Night” at Spitz Castle on May 4th.
