Air Asia leases 19 additional Airbus A320s

Tony Fernandes, managing director of Air Asia's parent company Capital A, said the group plans to have all parked aircraft back in the air by August 2023. They also want to lease 19 additional Airbus A320s.

“We have already signed 19 aircraft and are negotiating more. AirAsia also expects that all 204 aircraft can be reactivated by the end of August this year and reach 100% of pre-pandemic capacity in the coming months."
