Half-year figures: Stuttgart a third below the pre-corona level

Stuttgart-Echterdingen Airport had 3.588.131 passengers in the first half of the current year. In a direct comparison with the same period of the previous year, it was possible to increase by 27,6 percent. However, it is still around a third below the traffic volume it had in the first six months of 2019. 

With 42.102 take-offs and landings, the number of flight movements was 7,7 percent higher than in the same period of the previous year. “We are currently experiencing strong demand, people love to travel. Together with all system partners, we are preparing as best we can for the summer peak. We expect more than 8 million passengers on the STR by the end of the year. So far we have handled the demand well. Finding sufficient staff for all areas of responsibility remains an ongoing issue," says Managing Director Ulrich Heppe.
