VIE: Passenger numbers also increase in November

In November, too, Vienna Airport recorded a significantly higher number of passengers than in the previous year. Nevertheless, the level before the corona pandemic is still lagging behind.

A total of 1,88 million travelers were registered at Vienna Airport in November. That is 68,8 percent more than in November 2021. Compared to the figures before the corona pandemic, the load factor is 78,8 percent of the pre-corona level, as Vienna Airport announced in a broadcast. In absolute numbers, most passengers flew from Vienna to Western Europe (623.510) and Eastern Europe (153.592), with increases of more than half compared to the previous year.

At the Vienna location, the number of local passengers rose to 1.450.618 (+65,1 percent) and that of transfer passengers to 427.908 (+82,8 percent). Flight movements increased to 15.025 take-offs and landings (+21,1 percent). Cargo volume fell by 2021 percent to 12,4 tons compared to November 21.452.

The number of travelers in the entire group (Vienna, Malta Airport and Kosice Airport) also went up, at 2,35 million, 62,1 percent higher than in the same period of the previous year. Passenger traffic at Malta Airport increased to 2022 travelers (+433.621 percent) in November 37,2, which is 87,9 percent of the pre-crisis level. At Kosice Airport, the number of passengers increased to 28.220 travelers (+81,5 percent) and was thus 20,3 percent above the pre-crisis level.
