No ICE connection for Munich Airport

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

In contrast to Frankfurt am Main, there is a high probability that Munich Airport will not be connected to Deutsche Bahn AG's InterCityExpress network in the foreseeable future. The Federal Government sees no need for this.

In Bavaria, of course, people are not enthusiastic about this, because the lack of an ICE connection compared to Frankfurt am Main is seen as a significant competitive disadvantage. Among other things, the Münchner Merkur reports that the federal government sees no legal basis for the inclusion of a possible new line. This means that the request from Bavaria has been put on the back burner for a long time.
