With the change to summer time in Germany, Frankfurt Airport's new summer flight schedule came into force on March 31st. In the coming summer season, a total of 83 airlines will fly to 283 destinations in 90 countries around the world. This means that Frankfurt Airport (FRA) remains Germany's most important international air traffic hub with the largest number of intercontinental destinations. The summer flight schedule is valid until October 27th.

The new flight schedule includes additional European destinations. In Norway, Harstad/Narvik Airport (EVE), which serves the Lofoten archipelago, will be served non-stop from Frankfurt for the first time in summer 2024: from May 16th, passengers can fly to this destination twice a week with Discover Airlines (4Y). SunExpress (XQ) is also expanding its existing offering and flying weekly to Malatya (MLX) in eastern Anatolia from June 2nd. Greek airline Sky Express (GQ) is continuing its flights to Athens (ATH) in the summer after the airline started flights from FRA to the Greek capital in the winter.

In FRA's summer flight schedule, connections to North America will also be expanded. From June 4th, Lufthansa (LH) will fly to Minneapolis (MSP) five times a week, complementing an existing offer from the holiday airline Condor (DE). Lufthansa is also offering a new route to Raleigh-Durham (RDU): the city in North Carolina will be served five times a week from Frankfurt from June 6th. Condor is expanding its North American offering and will be flying three times a week to San Antonio (SAT) in Texas from May 17th. Frankfurt will be the only airport in Europe to offer a non-stop connection to SAT. The popular destination Miami (MIA) in South Florida will also be added to Condor's flight schedule. From March 23rd, the airline will offer three flights per week to MIA, complementing Lufthansa's existing offering.

In Asia, Condor will offer new flights to Bangkok (BKK) and Phuket (HKT), thereby increasing flights to Thailand from FRA. Lufthansa, for its part, will continue its winter connection to Hyderabad (HYD) in India.

In the 2024 summer flight schedule, the number of flights in FRA increases by six percent compared to the previous year (as of March 19) 1. With an average of 4.380 passenger flights per week, the offer from Frankfurt as of summer 2019 is still 13 percent below the pre-crisis level. A total of 3.285 weekly flights take passengers to 160 European destinations, while 1.106 weekly flights take passengers to 122 destinations on other continents. The figures show that the number of intercontinental flights has now reached approximately the level of 2019. The outgoing seat capacity from Frankfurt is now an average of 807.000 seats per week, five percent more than a year ago. The number of seats on intra-European flights will increase by three percent. All changes listed are based on comparisons with the 2019 and 2023 summer flight schedules.
