The Maltese airline Corendon Europe is entering the Germany-Kosovo flight business, which has so far been dominated by specialized tour operators.

In the future, Corendon Europe will set sail for Pristina twice a week from Cologne/Bonn. The first flight is announced for June 16, 2024. The flights are scheduled to take place on Wednesday and Sunday using Boeing 737-800s. Since this is an offer that is flown on your own account, tickets can be purchased directly from Corendon.

In recent years, the flight business from Germany and Switzerland towards Pristina has grown significantly. However, it is still characterized by the fact that comparatively few routes are offered by airlines on their own account. In most cases these are charter flights operated on behalf of “community tour operators”. This means that tickets are only available through these.

The vast majority of tour operators work seriously and reliably. Unfortunately, there are always scammers who sell non-existent charter flights. These can usually be recognized by the fact that only bank transfer or another form of payment without buyer protection is accepted as a payment method. In case of doubt, it is highly advisable for interested parties to contact the supposedly operating airline before purchasing the ticket and find out whether there is actually a valid charter contract or not. Fraudsters don't shy away from advertising with photos and/or flight numbers without the airline's consent.

The new flights from Cologne/Bonn are offered independently by Corendon Europe. In concrete terms, this means that there is no tour operator who acts as a kind of “middleman”. Corendon sees a high demand for Pristina flights from Germany, so it cannot be ruled out that they could set up additional Kosovo routes to Cologne/Bonn on their own account.
