The Japanese All Nippon Airways will celebrate a long-awaited comeback on August 2, 2024 at Vienna-Schwechat Airport, as the carrier will reactivate the Tokyo-Haneda route. The plan is to initially fly three times a week.

The route was started in 2019, but was temporarily discontinued in March 2020 due to the corona pandemic. Since then, the Japanese carrier's comeback has been eagerly awaited. As reported: A few days ago, ANA decided that Vienna would be part of the route network again in August 2024. The flight plan has now been published.

For the time being, ANA will fly three long-haul Boeing 787-9 jets between Tokyo (Haneda) and Vienna-Schwechat three times a week. All Nippon Airways will fly three times a week (Tues, Fri, Sun) between Vienna and Tokyo from August 2, 2024. Departure from Tokyo takes place at 22:45 p.m., with arrival in Vienna at 06:20 a.m. The return flight from Vienna leaves at 11:25 a.m. and arrives in Tokyo at 06:55 a.m. The flight is with a Boeing 787-9, which offers a total of 215 comfortable seats in a pleasant atmosphere in the three booking classes Business, Premium Economy and Economy.

“With ANA, Japan’s most important airline is coming back to Vienna. This means that the federal capital will once again have a year-round connection to Japan's largest airport. The Far East is an important market for Vienna Airport and the return of ANA is a sign of the resurgence of tourism and business in Austria and Japan. We are very pleased to be able to continue the good cooperation with ANA,” said Julian Jäger, CEO of Flughafen Wien AG.
