Due to construction work, Munich Airport will not be accessible by rail for around three weeks from October 19, 2023. Initially only the nights will be affected, but from October 23, 2023 the route will be closed around the clock.

According to Deutsche Bahn, around four kilometers of tracks will be renovated, 750 meters of tracks will be re-laid, six switches will be modernized and the train station at the Bavarian airport will also be brought up to date. The work will mean that the route will have to be closed for around three weeks.

A replacement service with buses from/to the airport has been set up for the canceled line sections on the S1 and S8. In addition, there is a bus shuttle service for passengers every 10 minutes between the visitor park and the airport.

On the nights between October 19th and 23rd, from 21.50:0.40 p.m. to 8:13 a.m., the S17 between Johanneskirchen and the airport will be canceled. On the nights between November 19th and 21th and between November 22th and 3.50st, from XNUMX p.m. to XNUMX:XNUMX a.m., all trains between the airport and Neufahrn/Ismaning are canceled. The S-Bahn is setting up a replacement bus service for all canceled trips.
