The 2023/24 winter flight schedule offers 116 short- and medium-haul destinations, 43 long-haul destinations and 13 domestic German destinations from Munich. Top dog Lufthansa is launching some new routes.
Deutsche Lufthansa, the largest airline at Munich Airport, is again offering new destinations in winter. For the first time, Bangalore in India will be served from the Bavarian capital. The new long-haul route will be served three times a week with an Airbus A350, one of the most modern aircraft in the world. In addition to this new long-haul route, Lufthansa is also launching new destinations in Europe: Oulu in Finland will be offered twice a week and Arrecife on Lanzarote once a week. After a break of several years, Glasgow will be included in the program once a week again and there will also be flights to Marrakesh from Munich twice a week again. The long-haul destinations Beijing and Shanghai that Lufthansa started in the summer will be continued in the winter. The routes to Bangkok and Los Angeles are now also served by the popular Airbus A380, the largest passenger aircraft in the world.
Other airlines are also expanding their offerings. SalamAir from Oman has been flying to Muscat and on to Salalah twice a week since September 30th. Uzbekistan Airlines also flies to Tashkent twice a week and the Norwegian airline Wideroe will also fly to Bergen in its winter flight schedule from January 2024. The new airline BeOnd offers a special treat. Every Wednesday and Sunday, the Maldivian airline connects Munich with Male and uses an Airbus A319 with purely business class seating. SmartLynx offers its service to the northernmost part of the United Arab Emirates, Ras al Khaimah, twice a week. In addition, Etihad Airways is increasing its existing frequencies to Abu Dhabi from one daily flight to ten per week.
