A few days ago, Klagenfurt Airport announced that it would also like to use the gate areas for events when they are not needed for flight operations. On December 8, 2023, SK Austria Klagenfurt held a Christmas party with around 300 young players.

The invitation for SK Austria's young players to this year's Christmas party made people sit up and take notice, as it came to the children's home in the form of a "boarding pass". More than 300 young footballers, from U6 to U15, got ready for departure and arrived at the airport on time, staggered according to the “departure time”.

After checking in, you had to go through security; This was followed by the next surprise in the gate area, where the players from the fighting team didn't miss a chance and personally treated the youngsters to sausages, drinks and ice cream. As a thank you, each year team gave a poem or Christmas carol. Of course there was time for (technical) discussions and autographs.

As part of a walk along the airport apron, there was the opportunity to take an exclusive look behind the scenes of the airport before the young Forza Viola passengers were welcomed back by their parents in the arrivals area.

“A wonderful idea was implemented today at Klagenfurt Airport together with SK Austria Klagenfurt,” said Maximilian Wildt, Managing Director at the airport. “The children’s enthusiasm for this special location for their Christmas party was also a great joy for our team.”
