The aviation industry is probably feeling the worst of the corona crisis. So it's clear that airports and airlines are longingly waiting for the Covid vaccine. At Schwechat airport, increased travel is expected again from mid-2021.
The much-awaited vaccine is supposed to stimulate the travel business in Austria again. But does the rescue also mean that the industry has to be imposed? At least speculations about “new requirements for air travelers” are making the rounds. Airport board member Julian Jäger does not rule out such measures either: "There are already reports that some airlines say you can only fly with them if you have been vaccinated." A "health passport that is internationally recognized" would also be possible, says he opposite the ORF. The board of directors of Vienna Airport is expecting increased travel traffic again from the middle of next year. "Of course we hope that when the vaccination is available and people are vaccinated that the travel restrictions will be ended," said Jäger.
