ADAC Luftrettung took over the first two H145 helicopters with five-blade rotors. These are now being prepared for the needs for rescue operations. The existing fleet is also to be converted to five-bladed rotors.

The conversion affects a total of 14 helicopters. These are currently still equipped with four-bladed rotors. Managing director Frédéric Bruder emphasizes that the most modern flight technology is used for rescue operations. According to Airbus Helicopters, the new rotor system should bring smoother flight characteristics and a reduction in vibrations.

At the same time, the MTOW increases by 150 kilograms, which is of particular importance for ADAC air rescue. You can take more staff or additional equipment with you in the future. If neither is needed, more fuel can be carried to increase the range. Airbus Helicopters puts the possibility at up to 140 kilometers.
