The three Baltic states, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, require passengers who want to come from Austria to again quarantine for 14 days. The regulation has been in force in Latvia since July 25, 2020, and Estonia and Lithuania will follow suit on Monday.

The Alpine republic was put back on the list of those countries with a high risk of infection by the three EU members. Furthermore, it is now also affecting France and Malta, which are also classified as unsafe in the Baltic States. In the island state, the number of infections has increased statistically due to the fact that a refugee boat with many infected people was picked up.

Both Malta and Italy warn of major problems related to refugees who want to enter Malta or Lampedusa by sea, for example. The Maltese found through tests that there were 65 infected people in a boat according to the latest local reports. A total of 95 people were on board, all of whom were quarantined.
