Self-proclaimed climate protectors wanted to disrupt air traffic at BER on Friday morning with the help of balloons, some of which were filled with helium. The police stopped the action and destroyed the "disturbing objects" with the help of pointed objects.

The rally was extremely small, because according to official information, only two people took part. They wanted to let balloons rise near Berlin-Brandenburg Airport. This should disrupt flight operations. The two self-proclaimed climate protectors described themselves as belonging to the “Last Generation” group.

The Brandenburg police said, among other things, that the troublemakers were taken into custody. Interrogations take place at the Schönefeld police station. An investigation is to be initiated against the alleged perpetrators. According to Berlin-Brandenburg Airport, there were no restrictions on air traffic due to the balloons.
