Not only does the summer season 2021 begin at Innsbruck Airport at the end of May, numerous national soccer teams have also announced that they will set up their training camp in Tyrol - with landing and take-off at Innsbruck Airport.

Traditionally, many top football clubs and national teams spend their season preparation in Tyrol and the neighboring regions. Innsbruck Airport serves as a hub for them. In the course of this year's European Football Championship, some national teams are also using Tyrol this time to prepare for EURO 2021.

The Russian national team will start tomorrow, Saturday, May 22nd, 2021. The team will be flown by S7 Airlines (with an Airbus A320) from Moscow directly to Innsbruck. In the following 14 days, among other things, the Austrian national team will pitch its tents. The German national team is also expected at Innsbruck Airport at the end of May.

A total of 15 flights from / to Innsbruck in connection with soccer teams have been registered until the end of June. At the airport, people are very happy that the hustle and bustle is returning. "After months of restricted operations due to the pandemic, it is a good feeling to be able to welcome international guests again", said Marco Pernetta, Managing Director of the airport.
