The British airline Jet2 is planning to take ski vacationers again in winter 2021/22 and has already opened the first connections to Salzburg and Innsbruck for booking. Two destinations from / to Tyrol can currently be booked.

In the 2/2021 ski season, Salzburg plans to fly to Jet22 on Saturdays from London-Stansted, Manchester, Newcastle, Leeds / Bradford, Edinburgh, East Midlands, Bristol, Birmingham and Belfast. It should go to Innsbruck from the Scottish capital and from Bristol. Initially, the carrier plans to fly on Mondays from December 20, 2021 and will switch to the Saturday traffic day from January 8, 2022.

In both Tyrol and Salzburg, the current winter charter season has been almost completely canceled due to the corona pandemic. Both airports generate the majority of their annual turnover with Schicharter, which is why this has an extremely negative effect on the financial situation in Salzburg and Innsbruck. In 2020, the months of January and February were largely unaffected by the corona pandemic in Austria.
