With around half of all aircraft, the Lufthansa Group will be in the air in summer 2020. By the end of October, they want to have reactivated around 90 percent of the short and medium-haul destinations.

The Lufthansa Group adapted the plans for the current summer flight schedule on Monday. Around half of all machines, around 380 pieces, will be in use. Compared to the original plan, which was drawn up in the time before Corona, around 40 percent of the capacity is offered.

“Little by little, the borders are opening up again. Demand is increasing, both in the short and long term. We are therefore consistently expanding the flight schedule and our global network and are pushing ahead with our restart. I am pleased that we can now offer our guests even more connections all over the world with all companies via all hubs, ”said Harry Hohmeister, member of the Executive Board of Deutsche Lufthansa AG.

At the end of October, over 90 percent of all originally planned short and medium-haul destinations and over 70 percent of the Group's long-haul destinations will be served again. Customers who are planning their summer and autumn vacation now have access to an extensive global network for tourist and business connections via all of the Group's hubs.

For example, the core brand Lufthansa will fly to destinations on the American continent more than 150 times a week via the Frankfurt and Munich hubs in the summer / autumn. Around 90 flights are planned weekly to Asia, over 45 to the Middle East and over 40 to Africa. From Frankfurt, among others, will resume until October: Washington, San Francisco, Orlando, Seattle, Detroit, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Dallas, Singapore, Seoul, Cancun, Windhoek and Mauritius. From Munich, among others: Washington, Denver, Charlotte, Tokyo / Haneda and Osaka will resume until October.

Lufthansa offers a total of over 2.100 weekly connections on short and medium-haul routes. From Frankfurt, around 105 destinations will be flown to again, from Munich around 90. The destinations will be restarted from Frankfurt until October: Seville, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Santiago de Compostela, Basel, Linz and others. From Munich Lufthansa flies to more holiday destinations around the Mediterranean, for example Rhodes, Corfu, Olbia, Dubrovnik and Malaga, but also Faro and Funchal / Madeira.
