The Embraer E2 operators Helvetic Airways and KLM Cityhopper will work together in the field of maintenance in the future. Under the new agreement, the Swiss regional airline can now carry out technical work on the machines of the Dutch airline's Embraer E-Jet fleet at its base at Zurich Airport.

KLM Cityhopper recently became a customer of the technical service area of Helvetic Airways. As part of a maintenance contract concluded by the two airlines, KLM Cityhopper will benefit from the know-how and facilities of Helvetic Airways at the maintenance base in Zurich. The new partnership initially covers the provision of on-demand maintenance services for the machines in the Dutch airline's Embraer E-Jet E1 and E2 fleet.

"This new contract is a recognition of the extensive knowledge and experience that our Technical Service division has acquired in the Embraer E-Jet family since 2014", says René Mamet, Chief Operating Officer (Part 145) at Helvetic Airways. "And it is a special honor for us that such a renowned company as KLM has now decided to make use of our expertise."

Helvetic Airways currently operates 16 Embraer jets. There are twelve copies of the E2 series. According to its own information, it is one of the world's largest E2 operators. The regional airline based in Switzerland offers similar services to other carriers. In the medium term, Helvetic Airways has set itself the goal of establishing a global Embraer competence center at its Zurich base.
