The Condor sister company Marabu Airlines has now officially opened the Hamburg base. A route network consisting of 14 destinations, which are predominantly tourist-oriented, is gradually being built up. Since the company currently only operates one aircraft, it mainly uses wet-lease aircraft operated by Nordica and Heston.

With a few exceptions, destinations that Condor previously offered are served from Hamburg. The distribution of flight tickets is organized through the German sister company. For the time being, 14 destinations are headed for from the Free and Hanseatic City. In addition to holiday destinations, the program also includes Tallinn, the home base of Wetlease partner Nordica.

“We see it as positive that the newly founded airline Marabu relies on Hamburg as a partner from day one. As an airport for the entire north, we have a large catchment area from Lower Saxony to Denmark - which means: great potential, especially for new airlines. With 14 direct destinations, Marabu has a broad base right from the start. And we are delighted that our passengers will benefit from an even greater range of flights,” says Dirk Behrens, Head of Aviation at Hamburg Airport. “As a CO2-neutral airport, we also welcome the fact that Marabu is stationing two aircraft from the new, quieter NEO generation at Hamburg Airport. This is driving the development towards the most modern aircraft at the Hamburg location and fits in with our strategy of reconciling climate protection and resident protection with an attractive range of flights.”

“We are very much looking forward to starting July 7.7th. to connect our hometown of Tallinn with the Hanseatic city of Hamburg, where our first A320neo moved into its base at Hamburg Airport on May 1st. In addition to the many sunny destinations on the Canary Islands, on the Mediterranean and on the Red Sea, with comfortable 2-hour flights to the Estonian capital, we offer the opportunity to spend holidays on the Baltic Sea beach under the sun that never sets - Midsummer is tempting," says Paul Schwaiger, CEO from Marabu Airlines, about the new non-stop flights.
