Messe Graz joins Graz Airport.

As the Holding Graz announced on Saturday, a share of six percent in the airport will be transferred to the MCG (Messe-Congressgruppe). In return, around 2,3 million euros will flow into the airport. Finance and Participation City Councilor Günter Riegler (ÖVP) told the Salzburger Nachrichtenthat he is “confident that we have given Graz Airport a further boost in difficult times”. After the end of the Covid crisis, they want to return to the medium-term planned passenger numbers. According to MCG board member Barbara Muhr, Graz Airport is a strategic partner of MCG and there is a great interest in ensuring that “good flight connections” are re-established as quickly as possible after the Covid-19 pandemic has been overcome. In the Corona year, GRZ had to accept a minus of 81 percent, only just under 200.000 passengers were registered.
