Munich Airport is recording further growth in so-called all-cargo traffic. Since yesterday, Qatar Airways has been flying regularly to and from Munich with a cargo version of the Boeing 777.

The route begins in Bangalore, India, and runs via Qatar's capital, Doha, to Munich and then on to Chicago. The return flight in exactly the opposite order takes the freighter to Munich every Tuesday. Qatar Airways carries out this service on behalf of the international logistics service provider DB Schenker and is thus expanding the freight connections from Munich to include other important destinations. "The new freight service shows once again that Munich Airport plays an important role as a reliable component of the infrastructure and an important part of global supply chains, even in times of the pandemic," the broadcast said.
