It was particularly quiet for a few months at Salzburg Airport, because many routes were suspended due to the corona pandemic. Again and again there were even no scheduled flights from Austria's second largest airport. Eurowings Europe is now ramping up the holiday program.

“With a lot of anticipation in their luggage and relief from the largely lifted travel restrictions, our passengers got off to a good start this weekend! But not only the passengers were enthusiastic, the crews of the Eurowings planes were also happy about the start towards normalcy. At the end of June we will be relaunching many connections to Germany such as the Lufthansa HUB Frankfurt. In order for our flight connections to Turkey, Great Britain and Arabia to start, we still need a clear and positive entry regulation - we are now sincerely hoping for that. We are definitely picking up speed again and are hoping for a favorable tailwind, ”says Airport Authorized Officer and Head of Traffic & Sales, Christopher Losmann.

Salzburg Airport turned the comeback of the Eurowings holiday flights on the weekend into a small apron event designed to express the joy. Even a carriage was used to bring passengers to the plane.
