The Cologne / Bonn route is now available again from Salzburg. The Lufthansa subsidiary Eurowings has reactivated this and is initially offering two rotations per week.
Other destinations that this carrier offers from Mozart City are: Berlin, Düsseldorf and Hamburg. Lufthansa serves Frankfurt am Main up to three times a day. There is no longer a flight connection to the Austrian Airlines hub in Vienna. This was shifted to rail in cooperation with the ÖBB.
“We are pleased that with the flight connection to Cologne we can again offer the entire, tried and tested Germany program. After all, Germany is our largest and therefore most important market. The Frankfurt connection in particular is essential for business travelers, says Christopher Losmann, Head of Aviation & Sales. “It is all the more important that our Salzburg and Bavarian passengers eagerly book the flights on offer! Only in this way can the airlines offer or expand the flight connections with the existing frequency ”.
Holiday destinations such as Heraklion and Palma de Mallorca will also be served this year beyond the autumn holidays. From the beginning of October 2021, Tenerife and Gran Canaria are also on the flight schedule. For a few weeks there has also been a connection to the Emirates hub in Dubai operated by FlyDubai.
The comeback of the low-cost airline Wizz Air, which was briefly present in Salzburg in the summer of the previous year, is on hold. Since then, the return has been postponed countless times. According to the current state of information, Kiew-Schuljany should be served from March 28, 2022. It should go to Saint Petersburg from December 17, 2021 and Varna is announced for June 13, 2022. Since the carrier has postponed the first flights frequently and in some cases at extremely short notice, it remains to be seen whether the dates mentioned will hold this time or not.
