STR: 100 volunteers collect rubbish along the airport fence

On September 18, Stuttgart Airport invited people to clean up the airport fence together on World Cleanup Day. More than 100 helpers took part and collected cigarette butts, packaging waste, lost masks and other rubbish while walking on the Fildern. 

Am Aktionsnachmittag kamen rund 250 Liter Abfall zusammen. An drei Stationen zwischen dem Tower in Filderstadt-Bernhausen und dem östlichen Ende der Runway versorgte der Airport Freiwillige mit Cleanup-Equipment wie Müllsäcken und Handschuhen. Am Steppach-Stausee spendierte der STR zudem allen Teilnehmern eine Kugel Eiscreme der Eiswerkstatt Stuttgart. „Der Flughafen Stuttgart ist umgeben von Gemeinden, Feldern, Bächen und Seen. Mit seiner langjährigen Nachhaltigkeitsstrategie fairport STR übernimmt der Landesairport ökologische und soziale Verantwortung in der Region“, heißt es in der Aussendung.
