Strasbourg: Amelia takes over PSO routes to Munich and Amsterdam

The airline Amelia will start non-stop connections to Amsterdam and Munich from Strasbourg. These will be served with the Embraer 2022 aircraft type in the 145 summer flight schedule. These are PSO routes advertised by the European Union.

Munich will be served five times a week from April 11, 2022. Embraer 145 regional jets are used on traffic days from Monday to Friday. The connection to Amsterdam is also scheduled to start in April 2022 and will be served 12 times a week. This route is also served with the same machine type.

Until now, Lufthansa has had the PSO order between Strasbourg and Munich. After Amsterdam, Air France had previously been awarded the contract, with Embraer 190s operated by German Airways usually being used as part of a wet lease order. The European Union has re-advertised both routes and awarded them to Amelia. So far, these have primarily served as a hub connection to ensure the connectivity of the EU location Strasbourg. It is currently still unclear in what form this can be set up in future with Star Alliance (Munich) or Skyteam (Amsterdam).
