Friedrichshafen Airport is currently in a kind of involuntary Sleeping Beauty slumber, at least as far as domestic German air traffic is concerned. The British Airways franchisee Sun Air of Scandinavia plans to resume the Düsseldorf route from January 18, 2021.

The carrier also announced that the connection between Billund and Düsseldorf will also be reopened on January 11, 2021. From November 2, 2020, Sun Air plans to operate the routes to Oslo, Manchester, Brussels and London-City from the Danish airport. Some of the resumptions have already been postponed several times. The carrier's fleet consists of Dornier 328 jets.
