The Twin City Liner was able to sell around 2022 tickets in the 143.000 season. This contrasts with the fact that in 2020 and 2021 there were only around 14.000 passengers. However, the catamaran has not yet been able to match the value it had before the pandemic.
In the 2019 season, the Twin City Liner sold around 165.000 tickets. "We are very pleased that the Twin City Liner was able to get off to a flying start again in 2022 after two very difficult years. The impressive result also shows that our strategic decision regarding the purchase of the current ship was the right one,” says Wien Holding Managing Director Kurt Gollowitzer.
The fast catamaran is currently in the shipyard in Linz for a routine check of the propulsion systems. The transfer to Vienna to the home port at the Wien City ship station on Schwedenplatz will take place in good time in the next few days, because the winter weekend trips of the Twin City Liner to Bratislava are already on the agenda from February 4th. The fastest and most modern ship on the Danube leaves Vienna at 10.30 a.m. The return journey from Bratislava starts at 16.30 p.m., arrival in Vienna is at 18.00 p.m. The official start of the season with up to six trips a day is then on March 31, 2023.
"In our planning, we are assuming that we can even surpass last year's extremely pleasing result in the 2023 season. Attractive packages with accommodation options in Bratislava and an even broader range of our sales channels - especially in the online area - should help to achieve this goal," explains Raiffeisenlandesbank NÖ-Wien Deputy General Manager Reinhard Karl.
