Long-haul Boeing 767 aircraft are a rare guest in Salzburg. On Thursday, Uzbekistan Airlines was on site with a so-called Preighter on behalf of the logistics company Quehenberger. The event should repeat itself on Saturday.

“Salzburg Airport and Quehenberger Logistics have enjoyed a successful partnership for many years. Today the time had come that we were able to successfully land the first cargo flight direct from China in Salzburg and process it together. It is often important to find quick and efficient solutions for charter flights as well. A good and uncomplicated cooperation with our reliable partner network worldwide and the solution orientation and flexibility of our air freight specialists are the basis for successful air freight projects ”, says Gerhard Haslauer.

In the pandemic, which has now lasted for almost 2 years, the need for mobility has changed. While travel restrictions mean that people can travel much less, medical products are urgently needed locally. “Currently we are not able to welcome fewer passengers due to the pandemic, but we are happy if we can provide support with the supply of medical products. This is good for the airport and the entire team on the apron is happy too - something is moving, ”said airport authorized signatory Christopher Losmann. "We are expecting a second plane, which the logistics professional Quehenberger also has to fly to Salzburg, on Saturday," continues Losmann.
