The Vorarlberg-based company Getzner Werkstoffe from Bürs is currently realizing the largest single order in the company's history for an elastic building support in the greater Beijing area. But that's not all, because in order to be able to deliver the vibration protection for the building on time, an extremely large air freight shipment was required at the beginning of March: The transport of the 8.000 m², fifty millimeter thick polyurethane panels is the largest air freight order in company history for Getzner.

The vibration protection from Getzner for the multifunctional building Gulou in the greater Beijing area is the largest single order in the company's history: A total of 21.500 m² building area is protected from vibrations and shocks. Specifically, 19.000 m² of floor space and 2.500 m² of wall space are elastically supported. Partial quantities were now unexpectedly required weeks earlier. One of the reasons for this was that the construction work was atypically continued even during the “Chinese New Year”. In order to get the vibration-isolating warehouse to the construction site in good time, Getzner had to send parts of the goods on a charter flight. The remaining partial deliveries were made by rail and scheduled aircraft.

“Other, cheaper means of transport such as ship and rail are currently in short supply and therefore not available in the short term. On the other hand, we were able to organize the air transport via Linz quickly. The handling of the charter flight with our 50 mm thick, elastic polyurethane sheets was carried out extremely efficiently thanks to the expertise of Cargomind (Austria) GmbH at Linz Airport. The company, which specializes in air freight, has already proven its competence as a reliable partner in the past, ”explains Thomas Dorfner, Regional Sales Director Asia Pacific at Getzner.

"For us, this China shipment was an exciting thing and a corresponding challenge to process the almost 190 tons of warehouse space around the Chinese New Year", says Wolfgang Mayrhofer, Regional Sales Manager at Cargomind (Austria) GmbH. 110 tons of anti-vibration plates were transported with a chartered Boeing B747-400ERF freighter from AirBridgeCargo, the remaining 80 tons with three line machines. “Special projects are one of the strengths of our air freight department. We have lean structures and highly specialized employees who can handle such challenges quickly and reliably. We are very pleased that Getzner Werkstoffe and Cargomind (Austria GmbH) have chosen Linz Airport for this project, ”said Norbert Draskovits, Managing Director of Linz Airport.
