Klagenfurt Airport is now formally once again fully owned by the state of Carinthia (via K-BV) and the city of Klagenfurt. On October 31, 2023, the responsible commercial register court made the necessary entries that were necessary due to the exercise of the call option.

The court took its time doing this because a more in-depth examination had to be carried out. The background is that the former majority owner Lilihill had filed an appeal. This meant that the commercial register court had to deal with the allegations.

After intensive examination, it was decided that the requirements for the change in the commercial register were met. The public sector had already transferred the purchase price agreed for the buyback to Lilihill a few months ago. The drawing of the call option was then formally reported to the court. Shortly afterwards, the former majority owner filed an appeal.

This was not successful – at least as far as the entry in the commercial register was concerned. This means that we have no longer been formally involved in Klagenfurt Airport since October 31, 2023. According to the company register, the airport is now again fully owned by the public sector, i.e. the state of Carinthia (via K-BV) and the city of Klagenfurt.

Furthermore, it was announced a few days ago that the position of managing director was officially advertised. Maximilian Wildt was appointed as interim boss a few months ago. According to reports, he wants to apply for the permanent appointment. However, it is completely open whether he or another applicant will get the chance.
